Honore' de Balzac said, "behind every great fortune is a great crime." Partially constructed from 1950’s television series depicting a family of wealthy landowners in the old west. The Cartwright family the largest timber and livestock producer in the west lived on a 600,000+ acre (937+ square-mile) ranch called the Ponderosa on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe in Nevada.  The vast size of the Cartwright’s' land was quietly revised to "half a million acres" on Lorne Greene's 1964 song, "Saga of the Ponderosa."
